Performance

The Q7 is available in three engine options. 3.0-litre diesel which produces 233bhp and 50.9kgm torque, 3.6-litre petrol and 4.2-litre petrol which produces 350bhp and 44.8kgm torque. All the units are torquey and refined. The petrol unit is one of the best medium capacity motors available in the market today. Similarly the diesel drives just as well; 51kgm of torque available from as low as 1400rpm on the 3.0-litre diesel gives the Q7 effortless cruising ability. The Q7 uses a Quattro four wheel-drive system which under normal driving conditions splits the power 40/60 front to rear. All the Q7s get variable-height, adaptive air suspension. There are five modes to choose from; lift, off-road, comfort, automatic and dynamic. Its hefty weight lends it a comfortable ride.

The Q7's design is dauntingly large and has an imposing presence. One can tell at the first glance that its an SUV. The ?Bulgarian Beard' one-piece grille and the high-mounted ?slit eye' headlamps look good. The interiors are very well-appointed and the materials used inside are top notch. Most of the centre console is derived from the Audi's A6. It is also equipped with the MMI-Multi Media Interface which is also found in the Audi A6 and A8. The leather seats are very comfortable and are electrically adjustable for various parameters. The steering is adjustable for reach and rake which makes it easy to find a comfortable driving position. The Q7 being an SUV you are seated very high up from the ground level which lends a commanding view to the occupants. Rear seats have a lot of space in terms of legroom. Q7's low roof means the passengers are seated a tad low however isn't uncomfortable.
