The Audi A6 is designed very conservatively and the refinement is a class apart. The build quality is great and the interiors are spacious and comfortable.

The Audi A6 is powered by the 3.2-litre V6 direct-injection petrol and a 3.0-litre V6 diesel motor. The 3.2litre motor produces 255bhp and the midrange is strong. The acceleration may not be as good as the 5-series however it's clever gearing makes it the most driveable car in its class. The motor clatters at idle but it smoothens up once past 3000rpm. The A6 with its adjustable dampers has varying levels of ride comfort. It rides best on the ?comfort' setting and it doesn't feel nose heavy like previous Audis. The A6 is amazingly agile for its size and changes direction willingly, though it's let down by the electro-hydraulic unit which makes the speed-sensitive steering super-light. The adjustable suspension lets you raise the ride height by 3cms which can be well put to use for our road conditions.

The twin- barrel lamps are mounted high and the smoothened nose give it a sophisticated look. The A6 uses fully independent suspensions. The interiors of the A6 are well laid out and the dashboard features most of the MMI (Multi Media Interface) functions. Overall cabin quality is good however some plastic bits around the door handles and the mirror adjust switch look particularly tacky. Its genuine shortcomings are few and the A6 is competitively priced too. It has superb performance and the build quality is great. The interiors are spacious and comfortable. It might not be as exciting as the 5-series but is a better all-rounder and a technology-packed option to the E-class.
